Crafted Conversations
What This Was All About
The question of the lack of diversity in the craft beer industry has been discussed for years but very little action has been taken to remedy the situation. The RDU Pink Boots chapter brought this collaboration together with the idea that we can share our love of craft beer with others, while they share their experiences and perspectives. Crafting conversations that build a foundation for a bridge that welcomes everyone into craft beer, thus making the industry more diverse.
The Pink Boots organization supports women, a minority in the craft beer industry, with a pledge to assist, inspire and encourage women through education. The RDU chapter was inspired to diversify not only within their chapter, but the craft beer community as a whole. They believe, as does Bond Brothers, that in order to encourage and support more minorities to drink, enjoy, seek out, and be a part of craft beer, we need to start at the beginning. The intent is for a minority in an industry to support a minority in the community. The idea is to share our love and passion of craft beer with those who are less familiar with the delicious beverage we enjoy. A collaborative brew provides the platform to share an experience, build relationships and craft something together while showing some of the appeal of craft beer. Beer is for everyone. Beer brings people together and creates communities. "If we truly want beer to be for everyone, we have to make space for everyone." (Eugenia Brown, Beer Chick).
We were happy to host and be part of this collaboration at Bond Brothers, and look forward to sharing this beer with everyone.
